SURE invites you to join us in solidarity with the vigil in the Everglades. All are invited to gather  Sunday, November 2nd, at 4pm at Payne Park Pavilion in Sarasota. A parking lot is available just north of the park. The Rev. Alex Evangelista will lead this week. Starting in November the vigil time will move to 4 pm here in Sarasota AND at the Everglades Big Cypress Detention Center.

This Vigil will be part of the national “Disappeared in America Weekend of Action,” which will include events across the country like Vigils, Protests at Home Depot, and Dia de los Muertos Actions (to honor those who have lost their lives in ICE Detention). This Vigil will be our contribution and an act of solidarity with this larger movement, as well as our siblings in the Everglades and across our state. 

The next vigil will be Nov 9, 2025 at 4pm.
